TRS Grade Configuration and Team in 2026-2027

We are excited to present our configuration and teaching assignment plan for the 2026-27 school year at TRS. Each year, we spend time looking over scenarios, budget and possibilities within our school, always using student learning as our focal point and basis for decisions. Within this plan, there is still room for staffing changes, as teacher open rounds for job applications to other sites open up and teachers make decisions for their careers etc.

5/6 Team- Rianna Garthus, April Brown, and Aida Javed

3/4 Team- Danielle Stetz and Jocelyn Hachey

1/2 Team- Megan Axford, Nadia Mostaghel/Temporary Teacher and Madeline Kinnear

ALP- Jenaya Haacke-Sutherland

AM Kindergarten- Heather Wacker

PM Kindergarten- New Hire

Music- Katie McMillan

Resource- Hooda Hassen

Intervention Teacher- Tina Bisson

Principal- Dan Buchanan

These staffing decisions are based on our current enrollment, and additional changes may occur prior to the end of September, as student numbers settle. Class sizes will remain quite small, ranging between 20-25 students.

Class Rosters

Our staff is currently putting some very intentional and thoughtful work into building class rosters for next year. When we make these decisions, there are a number of factors involved, including dynamics, friendships, learning, relationships with all staff, and student voice. As such, we will listen to parent requests always, but know that decisions can not always reflect parent asks, and that there will be a rationale for this. Teachers will reach out to students and families in late August welcoming them into their home rooms for the school year.

TRS Flex Time

Ms. Hassen and I are continuing to host TRS Connect time on Wednesdays after school. This is a 45 minute block of time that we encourage all learners from grades 1-6 to attend for additional support, time for homework, or just to hammer home concepts that are not yet mastered. Students will be dismissed to the playground for pick up at 4:00 pm.

Garden Clean-Up Volunteer Sign-Up

Each year, we have a dedicated group of volunteers, that not only clean up our beautiful garden, but maintain it throughout the summer and early fall months. If you would like to volunteer for an initial clean-up of this important learning space, please do so HERE.

Sports Day

We will have our annual sports day on June 25, which has historically been a great way to end our year on a super positive note! Our sign-up to volunteer for the sports day can be accessed here: Sports Day Volunteers here:
