Good afternoon Terrace Road Families,

Let me begin this brief update with gratitude. Gratitude for our families that have supported the school, the community at large, and our teachers during this time. Your words, actions, emails, and compassion are valued deeply, and they make a difference. I also want to recognize that this time has not been easy on anyone in our community, from families, to teachers and their families, and for students. Coming together again today was so good for our hearts. I will say that there are a wide range of emotions and responses, experiences, opinions, and truths, and I ask that everyone continue to evoke kindness and care for one another at this time.

All staff were back in today, and so happy to be with their students again after this prolonged break. That relationship is special, and helped to remind us that students are the reason we do this work. Thank you for entrusting us with them.

The Calgary Board of Education made the decision to cancel all activities in schools up until the first week of November. As such, there will be no Halloween Dance tomorrow evening.

However, we are inviting students to come dressed in their school-appropriate costumes on Friday, and we will do our traditional Halloween parade around our block at 12:00. Please come out and cheer us on if you are available! Our kindergarten students will be having their own mini-parade through the school and classrooms on Friday morning at around 10:00 a.m. Please stay tuned for an update from Ms. Wacker and Mrs. Kinear for more details on our Kindie Parade.

I will be sending out my usual Monday Terrace Road School Update, but wanted to take time today to provide this brief update. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out at any point, or stop into the office.

Take good care and chat soon,

Dan
