Dear Terrace Road Families,

We are excited to welcome each of you to our first School Conferences of the year tonight. The purpose of the conferences is to add an additional layer of communication regarding student progress in relation to the outcomes in the Alberta Education Curriculum at this time in the year. Along with teacher blog updates, and artifacts being sent home in the communication folder, conferences are an opportunity for inperson discussion between the family, student and teacher. This allows for contextual understanding for the family, and provides the student with voice and agency in their learning.

Due to the labour action in October, the Calgary Board of Education has changed the date of report cards to February, 24th, 2026. This will allow teachers more time to gather evidence and make informed decisions regarding your child's learning. IPPs and Student support plans will be going home in the next day, if you have not already received these documents. Please do take time to go over these documents, as they are 'living' and changeable.

We have also published our School Results Report, which is a report I have created in order to demonstrate our growth with the School Development Plan from 2023-24 to 2024-25. This is also year 2 of our current School Development Plan- Please access that document HERE, towards the bottom of the page. I will be speaking to the School Development Plan and School Results Report at our School Council Meeting in the New Year.

Kinder families, please remember that there is no school for kindergarten children on January 16th and 19.
